Kenan started sitting up on July 17th! Â Two days prior to his 6 month birthday. Â I bought him 4 new toys to sit and play with from the consignment shop and he has a field day sitting up for long periods of time to play on the blanket in the living room.
We had Kenan’s 6 month appointment on July 27th and he weighed 20lbs 10 ozs and was 29″ long. Â He is the 90th percentile for his weight now and still 97th for his height. Â Of course he has no chance to be short with Jason as his daddy and me as his mommy. Â We bought the convertible car seats in preparation of him growing out of the infant car seat. Â One thing that is hindering us from wanting to transition him to the new car seat is when he falls asleep in the car, we can just take the infant carrier into the restaurant or where ever and he can continue to sleep. The convertible car seat requires us to get him out of the seat, which usually wakes him up. Â It will be soon though because he is really too heavy to carry and is getting too long.
We transitioned today to stage 2 baby foods.  So far Kenan enjoyed most vegetables of stage 1 more so than fruits because they were too tangy for him I believe. He loves carrots and sweet potatoes.  I’m still attempting to nurse him in the morning and at night and pumping once during the day.  Soon we are going to have begin thawing out the breast milk I froze  in the beginning because from what I’ve read and heard it only keeps in the freezer for around 7 months.  I can’t believe that time is nearing!  Kenan still is in the routine of sleep, eat, play, sleep, eat, play throughout the day.  He still sleeps from around 9pm till between 6 and 6:30am. The solid food is taking place of some of the breast milk.  Kenan still has only 2 bottom front teeth and we have yet to see signs of more coming.
Kenan continues to love the jumperoo and the johnny jump up. Â He love tummy time, and now is taking big boy baths in the big tub. He loves to chase his floaty toys in the water and attempts to drink the water when he teethes on his stackable cups.
